Tony Morris is an exceptionally talented portrait artist.  Completely self-taught, Tony has been drawing and painting from his earliest memories.  Tony's first commissions for artwork came at the ripe old age of 6 as neighbors as well as his teachers at school began to commission him to render portraits of their pets.  By the time Tony had reached seventh grade, he had begun to be commissioned to render portraits of people.  At age 13, Tony was commissioned by First Citizens Bank of Charlotte, NC to create portraiture of the series of US presidents featured on our paper currency.  This portrait series toured the state during the year 1974.  Over the nearly forty years since, Tony has been recognized on a variety of levels in the art world including three national Golden Key awards for excellence.  In 1983, at the still early age of 21, Tony developed his signature - "composition" style of portraiture, a process by which he illustrates several images together in a harmonious and balanced arrangement, in relationship with each other in such a way as to "speak" to the observer about the subjects.  Having experienced the inherent limitations of "traditional" single image (usually posed) portraiture, Tony developed "composition" portraiture as a means to create incredibly expressive pieces of original works, rich with breathtaking detail, in the timeless pallet of greyscale, involving the client in a simple and enjoyable engagement that requires no contact between subject and artist (such that the end art work can be presented as a complete surprise - most are!) and all through a remarkably cost-effective process.  The end results are amazing - the best of all possibilities when it comes to portraiture.  So far, still, most of world is unaware that Tony and this incredible style of portraiture exists.  We intend to change this.
